Prospective students and parents will be asked to observe a good number of lessons before starting their own. By observing those of a similar age, children gain a good idea of what to expect when they start lessons. Parents will also start to understand the commitment required to embark on Suzuki Lessons.

You will be asked to continue observing lessons until a slot has been made available for you.

Parent Lessons

Parents take lessons with me before their child, in order to become confident 'home teachers'. 

Parents will learn: 

How to play the first few pieces in Suzuki Book 1, and especially how to help your child practice at home. It will take several parent lessons in order to cover these areas. 

For these lessons, you will need an instrument for yourself to play. You may use your child’s violin but if you can buy/rent a full size one you will be more comfortable.

Listen, Listen, Listen

Purchase Suzuki Violin School Volume One, New Edition with CD.

Daily listening is crucial to your child's success in the Suzuki violin Program. Play the CD several times daily to your child many weeks/months before lessons have begun. By the time your child has their first lesson, they should be very familiar with the pieces on the CD.
