1. Please read “Nurtured by Love” by Suzuki. This will give you a grounding in the philosophy of the Suzuki Method.

2. Familiarise yourself with this website - read the articles, policies, the parent's section - for your role as a Suzuki parent, information about lessons and home practice etc. 

3. Look at the website for the British Suzuki Institute: www.britishsuzuki.org.uk. 

4. Purchase and start listening to Suzuki Violin School Volume One CD. Play the entire recording every day for your child. It can be played in the background, while they play. By the time they come to their first lesson, they should be quite familiar with the sounds of the pieces on the CD. 

5. Start observing lessons of my students with your child.

6. If your child is under the age of 6, I request that you take a minimum of two lessons with me, so that you can learn some basic skills on the violin. This is prior to your child starting lessons.

7. Arrange a consultation with me to discuss elements of the Suzuki method and how lessons can proceed.

8. Fill out a Registration Form and agree to Policies.
